I posted elsewhere about some boiler woes I had, and mentioned some possible arcing inside the case, well I've taken some photo's and put them on Flickr for anyone who is interested (or bored).
I'm not up to speed on uploading but I think this link will work...
against the case? Does it have volts on it now? They are normally earthed at the "switch" end as well as being in electrical contact at the "hot" end. I'd suspect a faulty thermostat.
The boiler so far hasn't tested as live but I've not tried under all running conditions as I don't fancy having an electrode in each hand with one at earth just in caser the short decided I was a shorter route...
