Blood pressure variation?

no idea

the point is that they don't know either

With doctors visits, I usually have pressure higher than my home reading.

The weird one for me, is if I go to nuclear medicine, and happen to have my pressure taken, most of the time the result is the same as my home reading. I guess the staff aren't scary enough or something.

And for all of these office readings they do, there never seem to be any consequences, so the value really doesn't matter. I'm tempted sometimes to ask the nurse to pencil in 49/23/17 and see if anyone notices later.

At least when they ask for your weight or take your weight, there are good reasons for that (figuring out the dose for the contrast injection).

Before taking your reading at home, convince yourself you're not feeling too well today and it will be high. Google about what damage high pressure can do, and think about it. Then take your readings. They will be high. ;-)

well so do I

but that's because I've just doen a three quarter mile walk to get to the surgery

I'd be surprised if it were otherwise

You get seen right away? A few minutes rest should bring it back to normal.
