B & Queue

"more than an hour"

Anyone waited in the virtual queue for B&Q click and collect? How long?

Inadvertently clicked on a tab open on Wickes - 58 minute queue. (I left the queue as I didn't actually need to be there.)

Friend of mine used it the other day. Wait time was pretty much as predicted (55 mins in that case). He did say where he initially was in the queue - about 140000th IIRC (but I might not)

All I wanted was to have a look at the site, not order anything, and it was ~1 hr.

Yesterday I needed to check something on their web site. A 2.5 hour wait in their virtual queue. If you close down the queue window on your computer you lose your place in the queue and if you miss the 10 minute time slot when you reach the front of the queue you also get logged out.

Once in don't expect that their click and collect service to be quick. They are now advising that you may/will have to wait 3 days before getting your email to turn up at the store.

I don't really understand the 'queue' anyway, surely the queuing is automatic after you have ordered something. A virtual queue on the web isn't helping social distancing in any way.

Toolstation and Screwfix and such aren't operating queues like this, they're operating as normal on their web sites, just saying that "Click and Collect" is for essentials only, normal stuff should be delivered.

The B&Q web site has always been a bit crap. I expect it runs on out-dated hardware and software, the same as their point of sales software. They are using the virtual queue to limit the number of people using their web site at the same time.

If you purchase something you will get an email (text?) saying when the item is ready. You drive to the store and an employee drops it next to your car. However there site also says that you may have to wait 3 days before you get the email.
