Just bought one of these:
As you will see on the photo - there is a metal "needle" attached to the side of the gun.
I asked the B&Q man what it was for - he had no idea.
Does anyone here know?

Poking a hole in the business end of the cartridge of whatever gunk you're using ... I've never had a gun with the spike, seems more common in america, maybe their cartridges come with a foil seal rather than a hard plastic end that needs cutting off like ours tend to?
I suppose actual GripFill does only need a spike, rather than cutting the end off
does the B&Q gun also have the hole for cutting the tip off with?
FAKE! He dosn't even look Jewish.
I'm glad *you* said that, rather than me (though it did cross my mind as I wrote it).
Many thanks - the B&Q one does not have the cutting hole - but a good example of the spike being used.
Cheers
Gripfil needs a spike to open the fixed cartridge. Which is why I never use Gripfil.
For cleaning blocked nozzles ? One of the reviewers seems to suggest that is what it is for . " Also has a very handy attachment to clear blocked silicone tubes".
