Wife noticed a dip at one end of the roof of an old outhouse where she does some community work. I climbed up in the loft for a look.- after carrying out a risk assesment and with suitable PPE.
Found the bottom end of one rafter and the boards (sarking) rotten and falling apart. Some other rafters have previously been cut off at the bottom end and had a new piece of wood bolted on. The mortar at the verge has fallen away and the ends of the sarking have rotted where open to the weather.
Does this look like one of those rots that could spread?
