Another Lidl goodie.

For those who don't look out for their offers, another goodie. A Li-Ion work light - like a small floodlight. Much more useful than a torch as it gives an excellent spread of light. 8.5w LED and a 5.2 amp.hour 7.4 volt battery, so a decent running life between charges. Has an adjustable bracket so could be stand mounted too. Comes with mains and car chargers.

Do you know the price ?

How much? Already have something similar from Screwfix, I agree that they are really useful. Mine has USB output to charge a phone too iirc.

... and no doubt has one of those frustrating/silly sequential switches for two levels of brightness so it's "click on", use light to do job, "click off" but it hasn't gone off, finally click again to turn it off. I've never really been able to tell the difference between the two brightness levels anyway.

No - it has a plain rocker on/off switch under a weatherproof plastic cover.

All my LED torches have a rapid flashing function as well, which unless I'm stuck up a mountain in the middle of a desert island hoping to flag a passing plane, I'm not very likely to use.

I bought something similar from 'The Range' for a bit more but it's rechargeable via a sliding USB plug. ;-)

I'd have to say it's been very handy, especially when out walking the dogs at night and we have forgotten to put the torch in that particular jacket (as it's on my main key bunch with the house keys).

Apart from when I first got it, I've used it quite a bit and not had to recharge it.

I so very much agree. Would be good if they at least had an option to defeat the flashing modes entirely. Even if it had to be a permanent choice (e.g. cut a link).

"cut a link" good grief you expect the great unwashed to be able to cope with that? Most won't have anything suitable so will attampt it it with anything that might do, then sue the company when they damage themseleves...

Even a "hand bag" jumper runs the risk of them stabing themselves on the exposed pins.
