I wonder if the escapees favourite film was "The Shawshank Redemption"?

What an appropriate name for the policeman:

"?They could be anywhere,? said Charles Guess, a major with New York state police, on Sunday afternoon. ?They could have gone out of state by now or they could be holed up here in Dannemora.?"

I don't think anyone has invented a silent one yet though. Do you think the arrested might just be the Fathers of the real culprits? Brian

Perhaps they used spark erosion. The tool could have been put in place and just left doing its slow work very quietly.

It was. I was just referring to the idea of escaping via a pipe.

Whilst on the subject of angle grinders I have to fess up to never having operated one. I am also one who generally believes that H&S in the UK has gone a little bit over the top. Having said that I saw a programme on the discovery channel recently which really made me hold my breath. Personally I think I would have taken more precautions so here is a still photo and a very short (10 sec) video clip.

Anybody else think a clamp or a vice might have been a good idea?
