Aircom system..

Seeing its got a tad warm over the least few days its getting rather warm in my small "ish" home office where i seem to spend more time and I've sometimes thought it might be a good idea to instal an aircon system. I do have one, now very old, in the workshop outside but spend more time in here. The rooms around 30 odd cubic metres.

Its quite an easy install as its just thru the wall to the north facing side and wont annoy anyone there. Part of its idea is that in the colder parts of the year the central heating when on heats the whole downstairs so as these units are heat pumps as well might be reasonably economical in power consumption just to use it to heat this one room and part the project list this year is around 4 kW's worth of self installed solar panels.

Anyone know anything about the electriQ iQool make?, seems to be reasonably priced. Some seem to need a gas Eng on the gas filling side, some don't, anyone any experience of this at all?.

Thanks..

I don't have solar panels but I do have AC units in some rooms. I have Mitsubishi in the UK some 10 year old "General" units in Spain and some older Daikin in Spain. I really like the Mitsubishi They seem to be better built than the General.

My wife loves the heat output from these in winter. I love the cooling on hot days.

No experience, but it looks like they are built down to a price. I wonder about spares....

Some seem to need a gas Eng on the gas filling side,

I go mine fitted. Most modern units use R290 basically propane, so no F-Gas qualification needed. Other units use R32 which does require F-Gas certification.

You probably want to put it on a new circuit, so Part-P or equivalent depending on nation required...

I bought an Electriq standalone unit. It broke down after two years (I bought a 5 year warranty). Their UK agent seems to be Aircon Direct, who produced a variety of excuses and refused to honour the warranty. Searching online found many complaints about them.
