Arc fault detection device seems quite reluctant to detect arcing

Complex!! I wonder how reliable such devices are?
I would have liked more evidence of an arc, such as a light in parallel with the load.
You could hear it ...
Ok, perhaps my speakers aren't that good, I could hear very little.
There was definitely enough fizzling going on. I'd have waved a couple of wires at each other for greater visual effect, but I suppose an impressionable yoof might try to emulate that with the wrong wires and set fire to its head.
How do you define how much arcing is "enough" that it should trip?
