A bit naughty Bosch and unrelated DeWalt drill observations

Just looking more closely on the Li-On battery on the Bosch strimmer - thought it said 4 Ah. What it actually said it BIG was 4 AII and below that small was 1.2 Ah.

The size kind of gave it away anyway, but I thought 4Ah eh mm wonder if it will fit my newish DeWalt DCD776 drill :-) (I won't of course, but worth a look).

OT: And about that drill, it's very well made and am very please with it, except for:

The led - great idea but the beam is obscured by the chuck so cannot see the drill bit in its light. I hear even newer models have the light near the handle base.

The chuck is not as "positive" as the one on my old DeWalt NiCad in that it releases the bit sometimes under vibration.

A real gem on the old drill was that bit-holder moulded into the case

- is absent in the new drill. WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!! It was so useful.

Isn't "Power4All" just Bosch's name for their interchangeable LiIon batteries and tools?

And even if the ll was mistaken as an H you would have a 4 Amp Henry battery not a 4 Amp Hour one ;-)

So that's what you rest your case on :-) It does actually say POWER 4A II in large hi contrast Red on Yellow, whereas the 1.5Ah is rather feint and smaller characters. Creative advertising then. Either way it's a good product.

I get annoyed with Ni-MH AA & AAA cells that have the voltage, 1.2v (DUH!) writ large, and you need a microscope to see the capacity.

Just to prove me wrong I just found this in a drawer.

Blimey! that must have lain in the drawer a long time. Even a modern Low Self Discharge NiMH AAA cell can manage 800mAH. Mind you, it's better than the 270mAH AAA NiCd cells I saw back in the 90s (used in a small 2metre 'Handy').
