Still is, but that's tradition for you.
There are also problems with certain minorities who tend to cover themselves completely and have built-in tans.
BTW Vitamin D deficiency appears to be linked with a number of other diseases, such as MS, and without such a severe deficiency.

And when it is associated, it if often unclear whether the disease has contributed to the low D level, the low D to the disease, they are simply associated, or what...
