6" velcro sanding pads

Can anyone recommend somewhere to buy the velcro orbital sanding discs at a reasonable cost? I would like to buy boxes of 50 if possible but can't seem to find anywhere online that sells them in reasonable sized packs. They all seem to be in 5's or 10's and are overpriced. I'm guessing that £15 is about the right price for 50 discs. Has anyone bought these recently? Also what is the best kind to get for sanding an oak floor?

Many thanks.

I bought a box of 50 Bosch branded discs from Axminster recently (5"), about £20.

Just done this (using the above discs), used 120 grit, and got through about 10 discs on a 15m^2 floor.

The sort that go on a large floor belt sander ;-)

Many thanks for the replies.

Having just done this would you say 120 was enough or would I benefit from using 80 for a first pass. The floorboards I have are newly planed so they are fairly smooth to begin with but I'll be screwing and plugging the boards down so I'll need to remove more stock around the plugs. On a related note I was going to use the sawdust from the sanding to make a filler for any small gaps where the boards meet. What should I add to the sawdust to make the filler? I seem to remember reading that wood glue is not a good idea as it wouldn't allow any movement in the boards. Would PVS be better or is there an alternative?

I guess it depends on your plugs - I secret nailed, and the 120 was plenty. With plugs you might well want to use 80 at least on the plugs, then do the whole lot in 120 afterwards.

PVA works well for this, but don't expect a perfect colour match. Not a filler fan myself. A few gaps between boards look fine to me.
