2d drawing package

Anyone care to suggest a free package for simple 2 dimensional architectural drawings? My copy of Sketchup seems to have failed the move to W7 pro.

I've got plenty of old installers for sketchup, if you'd like to re-install it. do you know what version you used?

email works

Pass. I think it was an early version but I don't have any saved data so anything that will work on W7 should do.

I never got beyond beginner level but have more spare time now.

pdf output might be handy for town planning.

Mine doesn't:-) now tim@m'''d.uk.com

Inkscape is decent and free. It's not 'Proper CAD' but that's a feature IMHO.

My Sketchup works fine on Windows 8.1. I also use FreeCAD.

I mainly use ProCAD+ on my RISCOs machine (the devil you know) but had DraftSite on the PC which used compatible files (DXF), and I could just about stomach. But there is no longer a free version?

| LibreCAD is a free Open Source CAD application for Windows, Apple and | Linux.

If you actually like autoCAD, then there is a free version of nanoCAD 5.0 (you have to register it). An architect colleague who is a lifelong autoCAD user swears by it.

OK all Andy has kindly supplied some sketchup software. I'll see how I get on with that before venturing into anything more exotic. Thanks
