Do you have guests, a wife who has an iPad? I would be looking at future proofing rather than todays needs.. Screwfix have several which mention PD and QC in the spec. For example the LAP 246pn has a 1 x USB-A & 1 x USB-C ports with PD and QC. At 45watts I think it will charge…

About 15 years ago when we renovated and extended the house we fitted twin socket 13A switched outlets with twin USB A sockets. The aim was to keep the i3A sockets free while we charged phones and the like. To avoid having chargers plugged into the 13A sockets.

I am about to conduct some tests to see how much power they deliver via USB, and am contemplating updating to USB C, but is it worth the effort?

I am just looking at the charging regime for a Pixel 7 and it only takes about 18W however high the charger is capable of going.

I've started to look at specifications, but so far haven't seen PD or PPS mentioned.

Cheers

Screwfix have several which mention PD and QC in the spec. For example the LAP 246pn has a 1 x USB-A & 1 x USB-C ports with PD and QC. At

45watts I think it will charge most things. Perhaps not my Lenovo Laptop, but everything else..

(go to screwfix.com and put 246pn in the search box)

Some Varilight also mention PD and QC e.g. the 131ec

I have a 67W wallwart-type charger, which charges my phone very quickly. I doubt whether you'll ever get anything with that power built into a

13A socket.

How OoI do you do that?

Similarly with cables - how to establish power/data spec of a cable. I've got dozens . . .
