Well, the shop vac goes without saying! Works great for getting leaves out from inside and behind the bushes and from around the plants in SWMBO's gardens. It's also great for digging holes and trenches in the sandy soil around my house.

For those whose sabbath is another day, forcing stores to close on Sunday not only means those people can't shop on the weekend, but that they can't open their own stores at all on the weekend either.

Look out for one who has a nice neat shop without all the fancy stuff that you will end up paying for. I had a power flue fitted recently by a local shop and the job was superb.

I have a local machine shop that tested the flatness when I purchased the 50" aluminum one from LV. It was within 0.001" over it length. The machine shop has a 72" granite flat table that they say is within 0.0005" over its length.
The smallest obstruction (joint in shop floor of even a piece of wood) can catch the wheels and lead to tipping a top-heavy machine. I have always considered my DP to be one of the smaller footprints in the shop and find a place to place it full-time.
Take it to a welding shop and have it brazed. Maybe make some sort of fixture to hold the parts in place to make it easier to get a good match up.
