It came with free return. Transpired it had to go back to China at a cost in excess of £35 which the supplier agreed to refund once he had the return. Being distrustful I appealed to Amazon and they organised a full refund and keep it.

Robust marker pen for plastics

Around £5 from Amazon (free postage through Prime). However metallic gold was £1.89 on Amazon Prime so worth a punt. Hopefully this will do. [Back in the day I used to have a box full. Does anyone still use these in DIY land?

Cost to install a new gas dryer (old one broke)

I could use the old one, and then it would be free. You said two things. Gas scares you, and you live in Bethesda MD. Those locals know girlie men are afraid of gas, and take every advantage. Learn how to do it, or at least how to shop around, or quit kvetching. Sheesh. Steve

Parking - and Terraced housing

We have a primary school and local shop at the end of our street with a rea sonably big car park. Its hardly ever full and free without any restrictio ns.

Sawless and What to Do?

What if you don't HAVE 1/3 free. ;-) It's getting _really_crowded in there... Just change out the ballasts and make sure the new fixtures have a name brand, rated ballast. Of course, there IS the problem of the ballast costing almost what the fixture costs - unless you buy bulk.

Guitar Stand Woes

I've taken my very utilitarian store-bought metal one into my shop and tried to envision a nice design that incorporates the utilitarian functions more elegantly. I've experimented with trying to create bent wood laminated members, but with limited success.

"The Woodworking Shows" Any good???

I thought it would have been a much more productive and enjoyable day spent in my shop. I won't be attending another Woodworking Show. Just my opinion.

TS Blade Changing - A New Twist

I take a shop rag and grasp the dado set with left hand, then use the arbor wrench to tighten it with my right hand. Admittedly you cannot exert a lot of force this way, but you shouldn't have to if all the machine surfaces are flat and oil free.

Delta 8" jointers: HELP: "Precision" v. "Professional" & "DJ20" v. "DJ-20"

The two DJ-20's are nearly identical, the X-5 has a longer warranty and a free tool or mobile base. DJ-20, as well as the DJ-15 and DJ-30, have tables that move on parallelogram levers. They are nicer to use and easier to adjust than most comparably priced, sliding dovetailed machines.
