BEARS DEN INVADED!!

Hedge apple is the "fruit" of the Osage Orange tree. Why they call it an apple when it comes from an "orange" tree is beyond me. It looks alot like a cross between a puffer fish and an apple. It is a green sphere with pointed spikes ( soft normally) radiating from it.

Car phone holder for mobile in case

NY snipped-for-privacy@privacy.invalid wrote Those with built in satnavs or Apple Carplay or Android Auto have to have to be usable. That's what Apple Carplay and Android Auto do. It needs to have Apple Carplay of Android Auto go do that.

Growing near black walnut

OTOH, the apple nearby slowly declined as the canopy (& root system) grew, and i cut it down. i had raspberries growing under the butternut, but butternuts don't produce as much juglone as the black walnuts. how close to the black walnut/butternut was your weeping cherry?

Bees - Scary?

There's a lot of people that track the locations of fruit trees in Portland, there are hundreds if not thousands of apple, plum and pear trees and this year we had an excellent pear and plum harvest from them, as well as apples.

Using Havahart traps to relocate animals

Rabbits have a sweet tooth & like a fresh apple in the off season. But woodchucks. . . . 2 doors also means twice the chance that the door won't close & latch perfectly- so there is a small price to pay.

OT: USENET name vs. real name

One bad apple and all that.... I have also noticed there are a small number of people who obviously monitor a large selction of groups for postings on a particular pet topic of theirs.

Best wood candidate for new chisel handles

Back in Missouri we called them "hedge apple trees". Interesting. I've found the same thing to be true of Honey Locust.

Fruit flies prevention

They enter when there are food sources such as apple cores, banana peels, fruit rinds, etc. laying around in the open or in the garbage.

SWIMBO at CRIMBO

As you would expect, the world according to apple revolves around itunes. If you add you tracks to that first, it should be able to sync them with the ipod.

What makes WiFi not work?

You mean just another reason to avoid Apple? If they're using Wifi repeaters, receive on one channel and relay on another? Probably blame the neighbours for crowing their spectrum too.
