Analine dye problem

Oak was sanded to 150, shop-vac'd then wiped down with a wet shop rag. Any suggestions as to what I need to do for deeper grain penetration? scrub

Calif to SC or GA woodshop?

Do some real estate research and find a house with a basement (rare but not unheard of) that has climate control or build a separate shop building. If you own a home in California, you can purchase an equivalent home and have enough money left over for a VERY nice shop :-) HTH Bill

I'm only $150,000 away from having a shop entrance from the garage. That figure also gets me lumber storage and a finish room and increases the present day 650sf shop/150sf wooddorking Leebrary to a more agreeable (to me) 1800-2000sf. sigh...

bandsaw dust collecting

I'd like to station it towards the back of my garage/shop. I've thought about attaching a downdraft table. I don't have the saw yet.....just brainstorming a layout for the shop.

Router table on top of table saw...

I have to do that sometimes anyway, for working on big stuff, but I'd rather keep my shop set up so that I can do my usual boxes and other small projects without moving anything around. It's not a bad idea though.

Grizzly G1182hw vs G1182zhw?

When I equipped my first shop, I got the non Z model. It worked fine but like the other poster said, it vibrated but I didn't know any different. I'm now equipping my new shop and bought the "Z" model. The one piece unit makes a big difference.

Best bang for buck for squares and straightedges?
