This whole discussion strikes me as a bit pointless - just check the quality of YOUR equipment and use what is best in YOUR shop. All else is irrelevant.

Several commercial versions are available, and descriptions and plans for shop-made jigs have been posted here in the past as well. Quite correct.
Actually, if I recall correctly their intention was to have one of their stops on just about every power tool in the shop, not just the table saw.
When I saw the picture, my thought was that I knew some kids in high school who would have done that kind of project as a shop project.
