Ordering heavy tools from Amazon?

I ordered my 8" jointer and Amazon delivered it for free except I paid $25 for liftgate service. Driver unloaded it and placed it inside my shop. and NO sales tax. I think you'll find most local dealers won't give you any better service than Amazon.

Fast Firewood

Every now and then, you even find some wood good enough to use in the shop. Most of it is softwood, but hardwood isnt' uncommon. It's free and it's a replaceable supply - you just have to spend 20 minutes with a cordless circ saw out in the garage cutting it up.

Opinions on this old bandsaw

I spend a good bit of my free time researching, reading and dreaming about what machines will occupy DreamShop and used equipment will definitely play a very large role. That said, I'm almost positive that I'll buy a new or very late model, top quality bandsaw.

If you're not worried about bad karma then I guess they would accept a non working one as well since the people working in the shop don't do any point of collection testing. Maybe throw in an old fondu set or a collection of free wine glasses from a petrol station to keep them happy as ...

Possibly OT: Car Stereo

If it is the first choice of the U shaped bit of metal then 4 split pins will work nicely. I suspect that it is the flat metal key that is needed. I managed to get a stereo out using a chopped up mobile phone topup card to make the keys for a friend not too long ago.

Insulation

Since now adding attic insulation will cost me approximately $1000 at least I want to shop a little bit to see if I can save something. Are there any other brands that manufacture fiberglass insulation and are worth considering? Are HD or Lowes the best place to buy fiberglass insulation?

Home Depot, Walmart, and Lowes

I shop at any place I can get a good deal, yet I've discovered that Home Depot sells items online not available in stores. When I inquired about having the item shipped to the local Home Depot I was told the shipping would be $48 (44% of the item's value).

Running Utilities in Trenches

I know the coax is shielded... but it's easy to do, free, and keeps Mr. Murphy at bay. Better yet, consider running your low voltage in a conduit - that way you can pull CAT5 to the shop in the future if you decide you want phone or to network that CNC to the home computer :^) ...
