Don't use the kirby as a shop vac and there's no problem.
Go to a local metal fab shop and buy it, cut to size. You really want expanded metal "catwalk" material.
Can be found at auto parts shop. I'd try that.

My money is on it's a beam for a science, engineering, or shop class. Darro wants us to do his homework for him.
Glue "open time" in the shop has been halved the past few days ... down to way less than five minutes with Titebond II.
BTW, really like the shop and the thought that went into the layout. Oughta be in a magazine.
