Whoa!

Nope, just about every machine shop that does work with milling machines will have vises like this. Some cheaper (clones) and some more expensive (also clones). Kurt came up with a vise which revolutionized the industry and just about every shop in the world has one (or a clone).

thoughts on painting shop walls and ceiling

I painted 1/3 of my shop ceiling (shop is 1200 SF) with a roller. I then borrowed an airless sprayer (not the handheld junk). I repainted that third, did the rest, waited six hours and came back and second coated it in less time that the first third had taken with a roller.

Will this work for workshop flooring?

If not I'd strongly suggest that you have a vapor barrier between the shop floor and ground. Sheds built close to the ground without a vapor barrier tend to have the joists rot, and acquire a strong earthy odor. Higher moisture levels in the shop won't help the rust situation either. ...

I forget the author, but a few years back there was a major complaint about being able to find a pencil while in the shop. The author solved his problem by buying a whole box of #2 pencils and standing in his shop door and just started throwing the pencils in a 180 degree arc as far ...

wish me luck

With luck, our offer on a short sale here in town will result in me getting a good sized garage to double as a shop. I have no intention or desire to restore my former shop in NC, but would definitely add a few tools and things to be able to do some serious woodworking again.

Ah, YOUR shop. My mind jumped to gun shop. I've got a can of 296 that's probably old enough to vote and I don't even want to see if it has a price sticker on it. My taste for balls to the wall .357 loads expired a while back.

I wanted a specific Airfix kit, one of the 'Engine' series, and thought to give our local toy/model shop the opportunity of selling it to me. He took my order, and then nothing happened. 'Phone calls got responses such as 'My Dad's ill, he hasn't had a chance to pick it up', and similar.

Reclaimed Parquet flooring - Any pricing suggestions?

I have bitumen backed flooring measuring 11.5" x 3" x 1" each which was pulled up from our shop floor about 6 years ago. prolly about 25 - 30 metres square worth. Shop was built in 1905 (ish) so well seasoned.
