Removing non-silicone caulk

I need to recaulk my tub. I think the caulk there now is all-purpose polyseamseal, which has no silicone. Aside from using a tool to dig the caulk out, is there anything I should do? Some web pages mention using a blow dryer or heat gun to soften it up. Is that useful? Also, is there any solvent ...

non slip wood finish

what is the best waterproof but not submerged non slip poly finish a drying rack with dowels needs to hold onto the clothes etc was thinking maybe do a rough sand and then apply poly and leave it another idea was to get that non slip stair tape and put a strip on each dowel ...

Roofing - non slip footwear?

Any recommendations for an inexpensive way to give shoes/trainers better grip/non-slip on slate roofs. Something to apply to older footwear would be best, temporary or permanent.

CH non return valve
