Rope clamping

Good to Know Sonny "Spanish Windlass" I hope I can remember thay one with "the Dutchman" too I would just call a Bowtie Splice.I do remember it in my machine shop class 55 years ago now re-remembered with this site.

Hinge pin door stops

It was a mistake from the door shop. The were not supposed to be "high quality" hinges. The builder ate the price difference. If, I get the right size hinge pin in the right bronze finish they should work. I tried and regular hinge pin and it was not thick enough and was to long.

Greatest markup ever?

I was in my local newsagent in London and saw he had a card of button cells behind the till which he was selling at £2.99 each. I recognised the card of cells as one which I can get from my local pound shop for £1. It contains about 16 cells.

Small Gloat

Work decided that I didn't have enough tools so I got a free Milwaukee Orbital Jigsaw (6266) Dewalt Drill (plug-in 3/4" chuck) and a half way decent Black and Decker Grinder (the ergonomic one).

Whats the most cost effective AND time effective way to sell on unwanted tools and DiY materials......?

Supermarket free adverts can be surprisingly good. Otherwise decide to keep the items just in case, give it away on Freegle/Freecycle or donate to a suitable charity shop.
