Single-Source supplier for Wood/Metal working tools? Your recommendation?

Will it be a hobby shop, or will it also be used as a model shop or maintenance shop for university infrastructure maintenance? More information will get you better quality answers... I'll suggest Lee Valley Tools for "smaller stuff" in the woodworking catagory.

WEG 5HP Compressor Motor - Dual Capacitor - 208-230 Volts Single Phase.

Does anyone have a WEG 5HP Dual Capacitor 203-230 volts Single Phase Electric Motor in their shop?. I need the capacitor values. Model 0898 AP77935. The motor is usually found on a compressor. I am trying to repair this motor for shop and 3 electricians have given up.

Does anyone make a STURDY Tire Wrench

Cost the shop about $2k to have a replacement shipped from Italy. So if you have carbon fiber rims, please mention it to the shop, so they can send you to the dealership. It'll save you time and the shop money.

Would You Trust This Jack Stand?

I've had shop manuals for about 7 other cars from GM, Ford, Chrysler (84, 88, and 95), and Toyota, between 1966 and now, and none of them had a separate section for this. I don't remember if they were indicated elsewhere.

What percentage of flat tires can be saved? (2024 Update)

Rather that change it, I had him pump up the tire and I drove it a mile to a shop and it was plugged. The other was leaking. Stopped at the tire shop 2 miles from me and made an appointment for the next morning. Few pounds low, but driveable.

It's a linsey-woolsey shop - neither a retailer nor a builders merchants, a little of both and falling between two stools. So cushions should be purchased in a furnishing shop and building materials at a builders merchant. Unwise to buy plumbing fittings on price.

Jobsworths.

I would as a customer in a shop expect to be able to ask the staff for advice on the various products available. Especially if they were expensive ones. In the case of a cigar shop, no non-smoker can give first-hand advice on the product.

Ridgid vacuum surprisingly quiet

Orange Borg had decent post-Thanksgiving sale price on the Ridgid WD1245 shop vacuum. I'm just re-building a shop after many years, and I didn't have a vacuum, so I picked one up today. It's a 12 gallon, 5 SHP (Sears horsepower) unit.

Was anyone else ever..ahem.."touched" by their woodshop teachers in junior high?

My shop teacher was my favourite teacher out of all of them. That's where i first had a love affair with the wood lathe. i actually liked the metal lather more. But high school only had one and you were always being pressed to finish your project.

Put "window" in wall of office and shop, place filter and fan in window to blow air into office.
