7th grade shop class held the record , almost a hundred yards - thru the front window of the shop , across the lawn and the street in front , and landed in the field across the road . Coulda been ugly if a student or car was going past just then ...

I just didn't want to make that particular recommendation to what appeared to be a shop student... It sounds like a very poorly run shop/program, however. :(

Router raising devices

One got sucked up into the shop vac and wasn't noticed until too late. Very easy to use. Only one I have experienced. >Marc (Who planes and rips in his wood shop and planes and rips when >he's windsurfing)

OT: Flu Downtime

Seriously, unless I am too tired, I just put on some warm clothes and go into the shop and do whatever. I find the time goes faster than if I were laying in bed, and I don't notice the symptoms as much when I am happily occupied in the shop.

Dust collector tune up

I'm not quite sure why, but people who have no difficulty recognizing that their shop vac works best when empty frequently seem unable to grasp that their dust collector behaves the same way. ( If your shop vac is 2/3 full, then it's probably time to empty that too :-)

Converting room to Walk-in-Wardrobe: Any bright ideas?

Self-adhesive "frosted window film" - a signwriter will have it for doing etch-effect shop windows if you can't find it in a diy shop. Unless you have a surfeit of rooms you might not want to do anything too permanent, as a home office counts as a room but a wardrobe does not. ...

How come my roof leaks? This stuff sucks

I spent 100,000 on a pole shop with living quarters & the builder used tri ply for the vapor barrier & it rains inside when it starts getting cold outside. And I know it's because of the heated space but I didn't build a shop for all my valuables to get soaked. I think I got hosed?
