RAS Top

It needs a new top, but I expected that. I'm planning on using 3/4" MDF with a melamine coating. I haven't decided whether to try a double-layer top right off, or go with just the one and get some experience.

Roof top

They previously had stacked about 4 layers of regular shingles over the top, but I'm looking for maybe a better way to do it. Corning makes hip/ridge shingles with a specific ventilation function, but I'm not sure if this will fit correctly on this roof top.

Top tip

If like me you wear disposable rubber gloves whilst painting, here's a way you can make the box last longer. When the pair you're wearing get covered in paint simply take them off, turn them inside out, and then you can start again with a 'new' pair of gloves! Bill

Workbench top??

I am working (slowly) on a workbench and was wondering if there is a reason on not using oak for the top? Other than it's not as hard as maple.

Desk top

Can someone tell me what would be a timber for a desk top. I am thinking of using 3/4" ply with the oak veneer finish. Cheers
