Table Saw Again

I set up a door bell in my shop with a wireless remote button sitting on the kitchen counter top. My wife rings the door bell if she wants my attention. We understand that bursting into the shop unannounced is dangerous. Its not perfect, but it works most of the time. Bob

sealing concrete cracks

I have a crack - expansion joint - in my shop concrete floor that extends to the outside underneath the exterior wall ( I can see daylight from inside the shop) The pesky ladybugs, etc like to line up and invade. The crack is about 3/16" wide. What's a good way to fill/seal this?

Why so hard to get Edison screw lamp holders?

Called at the electrical wholesalers today and someone in the shop asked for a E27 pendant holder. They can get them but they were not in stock. My first question was "Have you got any E40 pendant holders?" Oddly enough the hydroponics shop next door did have them.

With a 'factory shop'; that's where we got it. Also got other stuff there. They've now moved to about 10 miles away, and no shop :(

air compressor oil or oilless?

small one, but neither is suitable for my home shop. A valve body cost more than my home compressor. We're talking home shop, infrequent use by a weekend handyman, low end starter stuff, not industrial duty. Porter Cable pancake versus larger 220V cast iron head.

Dust Collector Piping Advice

Oh man, don't buy that spiral pipe for a home shop. Way too much buck for no bang. I bought the snap pipe from HD (the thicker stuff... they had two locations in the store). Works great. You can see it in action on various tools in my shop: http://www.areddy.net/wood/workshop.html

Advice on cleaning up some wood

I hit it with the shop vacuum with a brush end. Then I make a pass with the metal detector. After that it's the belt sander followed by more shop vacuum. Then the jointer to square up an edge and a face. Finally the planer to make everything smooth and parallel. mahalo, jo4hn

Barry, Ask the salesman to provide documented evidence of PVC in a home shop causing an explosion because of static. It has to be a home shop. He/She won't and can't provide one, because it doesn't exist. And I went through the same exhaustive search you did before I installed ...
