Best time to split firewood?

Cherry is hard, but not apple hard, and apple still splits when it is not frozen. One minor problem with splitting in January is that the wood tends to shatter (apecially shorter logs) and occasionally with apple you may have a piece flying into your legs.

I was an apple convert (in the II+ era), Apple lost their way for me around the first mac. While they are now a triumph of marketing, they now have nothing I want. :) I prefer my smartness in people, not in things. :) :)

Yes indeed as I said to start with, and if doing that move away from Apple, or go completely apple if you can afford it, its a bit awkward as if you want to write in Windows its probably more an off the shelf solution, but may be more hackable. Brian
