My new cabinets

There is a big difference between a regular table saw that bangs around a construction site all day and a cabinet saw that stays tuned up in a shop.

Woodshop for less than $1,000??

A good suggestion to find out what he used to equip the shop might be on the American Woodshop web site (http://www.americanwoodshop.org/). A quick look there gives the topics of the shows by season and I didn't find it in season 11 or 12 but didn't seach any further.

Table saw?

A "Contractor Saw" is a table saw too, but is open underneath, less weight and more portable--great when you need to setup shop at the site. A further step down is the benchtop table saw. Cabinet (table) saws are heavy, and generally the most accurate type of table saw.

DEWALT DC4CPKA 18-Volt Ni-Cad Cordless 4-Tool Combo Kit any good?

It's not suitable for constant job site use, but around the shop it's been handy.

good deal on SHOPNOTES subscription or renewal

That's a really good site - thanks for posting the link. eBay also has those discount consolidators (I think that's how they can offer such low prices).
