New toy!

Dewalt DW735 sittin in the shop! Stared at it for almost half an hour last night before yankin it outta da box. Today I connect it to the grid and check it out. That makes 3 hunks of yellow in the shop now.

DIY Dust Collector

This sounds like a good candidate for making a shop air filter/sanding table. A DC generally needs a higher air volume movement. ShopNotes Issue #24 has good plans for a shop air filter that uses disposable furnace filters (I made one).

I'm originally from Liverpool, moved here in the late seventies, they wouldn't know a good woodworking shop/tool shop if it fell on there heads! only good for two things here: tulips and clogs! (don't half miss the steak pie and chips) Eddie.

What does free fittin mean?

They need to recover the cost from the shop. You don't have any contract or agreement with them -- the shop does.

If you only have a few of these, you might be able to fudge it by offsetting the oversize film in a standard scanner, then making separate top and bottom scans and joining them together with Photo Shop or Paint Shop Pro. Phil

Your local welding shop can make you one for a few bucks. So can your local farmer, if you buy the rebar. Or ask the teacher in your high school welding shop to get a kid to build you one. Jan (a welder)

OT: Engine Firing Order etc.

The boxer engine has four crank pins and the pistons on opposite cylinder move away and towards the crank together. They are very vibration free. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flat_engine#Boxer_engine The non-boxer engine only has two crank pins and are more unbalanced.
