I've just re-sited one of these Varilight 12v lighting SMPS transformers (bought from TLC) and noticed the cover/cord grip on the mains end had actually pierced the insulation of the feed TW&E. Its fixing screws weren't done up particularly tight, either.
I have used both TW and WS blades and *much* prefer the WS. WS only comes in 1/2" and it is relatively thin. The (spring) pressure required for a given tension (psi) is a proportional to the cross section of the blade.
