shop vac recommendations

Well my old shop vac finally bit the dust. No great loss, it was an old clunker anyway. This time around, I'd like to get something smaller, quieter and more powerful ... Any suggestions? How about the Fein Mini Turbo? Thanks in advance. Regards, Irwin

update shop heat

The thermostat in the shop for the shop furnace is set at 72, and it's heavenly in there. The one in the garage is set at 60 and within a couple hours, the 1 1/2 inches of ice was melted off my truck! LOML didn't have any on hers 'cause she rents the garage space from me.

Shop vision assistance

Eyesight not what it used to be. Could use a little help seeing the band saw blade and cut line to be followed. Have to get pretty close not to see real well. Uncomfortable and not real safe or accurate. Anyone know of a magnifier that could be attached to the saw to help with this. Thanks in ...

Shop made veneer

Folks - Well, I've only made bits and pcs of "shop" veneer before, but needed a fair amount to cover the plainsawn sides of quartersawn white oak legs, 24 pcs total. I have a *gasp* Harbor Freight 1 1/2 hp 14 bandsaw w/riser.

NEW SHOP IDEAS

i have the opportunity to set up a new shop in my basement. it measures approximately 20x40, less the stairwell and an area which is roughed in for a full bath. i also have an attached two-car garage with access from the basement.

Shop insulation question

I have a small but dedicated 20x24 shop I built last year. For various rea$ons I never got around to insulating the attic before winter and ran the heck out of some electic heaters as a result. I now have the time & funds to devote to insulating the attic (my celing is closed btw).
