Is there a simple way to restore the vacuum suction on one flush, where the flush does not discharge after several attempts. This cistern is vey old, but quite functional until quite recently. The make is FLOMASTER, of plastic construction.

If there are discharge holes under the bowl rim check to see if they are clogged with "lime" and if they are, clear them out with a suitably sized nail or small screwdriver.
