brown goopy stuff on petals

speaking of phals, i have a golden peoker daughter which has a couple flowers that have a spot of brown goopy stuff on a couple petals. there is a lesion that goes from the front to the back of the petal, and this gloppy stuff, which washes off easily with plain water. doesn't smell or anything. 2 flowers out of about 5 on the plant are affected. rest of the plant looks fine.

thoughts? thx...

If the flower looks eaten then its snail or slug poop. get some slug killer that has iron phosphate as it's non toxic and really does the job.
