Whirlpool dishwasher leak

Could be a cracked fitting, hose, or or a connection. If you can see what it is you may find a video to replace it here:

It's between hard and impossible to caulk leaks from the outside of the connection. See if you can find your machine on repairclinic.com or one of the other parts companies, with an exploded view, and make sure whether there is a gasket betwee the plastic piece and whatever it's inserted in. If there is, it's probably bad.

Buy a new one and a new plastic piece, but even if there is no gasket buy a new plastic piece. The dishwasher gets hot inside so unless it's pretty new, the old one will probabbly break when you try to take it out. Try to discern from the exploded view what holds it together. I don't know.

If you find the explodedd view for your model and post its url with a precise desciption of the part you think is leaking, maybe people here will have better ideas.

In addition, take a photo and upload it to an image hosting/sharing site and post the link here.

Before you actually start taking it apart, leaks can be misleading. Maybe apply a coating of flour or whatever works and let the machine run for 2 minutes, 4 minutes and so forth and see where the flour is disturbed or washed away so you know with more assurance where the leak is. If you miss it, wipe the area dry and try again.

I once ran my dishwasherr through the same part of its cycle ovver and over trying to find a clog that I partly melted a plastic dish in the rack. The machines usually have a heater that heats the water and I was heating it over and over again. It didn't damage anything but the one plastic dish in it.

I was thinking of some sort of food coloring to help find the leak.

Find a diagram online at any of the parts shops. See what that part is, where it could be leaking. Get under there with a flash light.
