What do you call this bug:
It's green, maybe bright green, over an inch long, almost 2 inches, and its body is over a half inch high and is shaped roughly like a fish, with spindly legs. No fat legs like a grasshoppper. No apparent wings when it's sitting still.
A picture would have really helped. Someone may recognize it instantly.
Note that almost everyone now has a digital camera.
I'm pretty sure it's one of these.

Sounds like a katydid but with micky who knows?
Never say never but if he really sees one catch it and call Md DNR. They would be interested. Down here we see lots of invasive exotics from Africa and Asia, usually coming in on a ship. It is never good.
OTOH it might just be a preying mantis.
