What does this yellow light mean on the front

Years ago my brother was a dealer's shop foreman and told me they did that when car seemed OK but light stayed on.

Best to ignore TPMS as batteries are bound to go as car ages. My wife paid over $100 at dealer to have one fixed but now just ignores lights. You just check the tires like we did years ago.

Years ago they said if cars were like computers they would crash every few days.

You can get valve caps that indicate when the tire pressure is low. That's a little less convenient than TPMS but a lot less expensive.

My best - eventually taken out due to backup battery problem.

My 2004 Sienna is, I think, one of the last years that they did the tire rotation thing. Then they switched to the in tire battery powered sensors, which I think are now required.

A few years ago I got a scanner adapter to connect my car to my computer and a maybe illicit copy of the Toyota techstream software for 30-50 dollars.

Illicit minds think alike. IIRC I had to buy two copies (though neither was as much as 30) but I got it to work. (With XP. Fortunatly I still had my XP laptop. wouldn't work with whatever I had that was newer.) But it wouldn't change what I wanted. All I wanted was the fob to open both front doors with only one press, not two. That option didn't exist for my 2005. And I wanted one other little thing I couldn't have too.

I'm glad I didn't pay the dealer to tell me it couldnt' be done.

Cindy will think I'm a fool for caring if it takes one or two presses to unlock the passenger door.

No wonder I'm not with it. I think I will refuse to get a car newer than the one I have.

Long before OBD2 - and those were "service interval" lights - no need to cut the wire as there was a SPDT switch in the odometer and another under the dash somewhere. Just flip the switch or wait another 10000 miles and the light went out all by itself - for another 10000 miles.

Anything newer than 1995 in North America is OBD2 - which means On Board Diagnostics Level 2. It checks anything that could affect emissions or cause engine damage -Things that could leave you at the side of the road with a big bill if ignored. Sure, some of the emissions stuff is pretty benign - but if that yellow light FLASHES!!

- Shut down and call a tow truck because it is likely to get pretty expensive pretty quickly!!!!
