washing machine working?

i've noticed that my washing machine, which is probably 8-10 years old, Kenmore, sometimes leaves clothes wetter then normal after the last spin cycle. Not sopping wet, but a little heavier than i'm used to. is this a sign of a declining washing machine? clothes are clean, and all else works.

Have you checked for lint build up in exhaust path? TB

this problem is in the washing machine, not dryer

It could be several things including a drain problem or a belt problem. You might try replacing the belt and checking to make sure it is able to pump the water out quickly.

Yes, that was clear from your original post. A small amount of lint comes off your clothes in the washer as well, and over time, that lint (or pieces of kleenex, etc.) can clog up a washer's drain hose. That would definitely be an easy thing to check, anyway. Andy

Sometimes a load of laundry will lay unbalanced in the washtub and prevent adequate spin speed. Try re-arranging the damp clothes and repeating the spin cycle only.
