Stall shower remodel with insert

Jul 11, 2003 1 Replies

The tile and grout in a shower stall is in very rough shape - the shower pan had been replaced a number of years ago and the work was done poorly - the previous owner learned to live with it - it looks terrible - I'm considering tearing out the tile myself and whatever is behind it down to the studs, having a plumber install a decent quality shower stall insert that I'd get at HD, and a finish carpenter (?) complete the job.

Any ballpark ideas what I should expect to pay?

Thanks.

Don't know prices, but had quite a show watching a neighbor install a home depot one piece unit to replace his setup off his master bedroom. He bought the thing, loaded it in his pickup truck, got it home, barely got it thru the back door, then found out it wouldn't fit thru the bathroom door way. Ended up ripping out the wall.
