Source for generic wet / dry vac filters

I am looking for a source for generic, less expensive filters for Wet / Dry vacs. Have already checked the regular suspects, Amazon, Home Depot, Walmart.

If anyone has first hand experience with a good source, I would be appreciative for the information.

Great question. I hope someone posts a source.

My dad (86) recently gave me vac that he didn't need, so I built a cabinet for my miter saw and put the vac inside it. The foam lined cabinet cut the dB's from 70 to 52 when tested with a semi-calibrated smart-phone app. (baseline reading of 11 dB in a virtually silent closet).

I know it's not what you asked for - but - these filters out-perform the Sears oem filters in my old 10 gallon Sears shop vac - if you can find them at other sources for less money ... Look for "made in USA"

Maybe go dumpster diving at McDs and grab some discarded lunch bags?

Thanks, that is about double the price. However, they are supposedly washable and reusable, but still, double the price.

The kind of helpful suggestion I would expect from someone using the nym: "Trumpster".

Thanks little guy, time for you to go and eat breakfast out of a toilet.

A very neat and tidy shop...... I like it, but I just can't relate.

How often do you change filters? I've had the washable for probably 15 years now. The cost per year is much less. Low price is not always the best value.

The neatness comes from the fact that the picture was taken right after I built/installed the cabinet. It doesn't always look like that. In fact, the shop is small, so it only takes a few things strewn about for it to become a mess real quick. But it's far better than nothing.

At my age, cost per year is less of a consideration than it might be for a young whippersnapper, like you, Ed.

Hey, I would love to have a neat shop and desk, but in all these years I can never do it in an ongoing fashion. I know all the benefits, but, by the time to task is finished, I am usually too tired to put everything away where it belongs.

Grainger? Ace Hardware? Rural King or another farm supply store?

I went looking after the question was raised. I saw one seller on ebay that had them at a significant discount if you were willing to purchase

10 or 12 at a time. Standard filter for my 18 gal. Craftman shop vac is about $18. My records show that I bought them on sale at Sears for $9.99 in 2011. I agree that $18 is "too much".

So, what did you carve into the hinge side top corner of the door? Your initials maybe?
