side by side fridgedaire

Dec 05, 2006 3 Replies

I have a ten year old side by side. The freezer and refridgerator works fine with one exception. On the freezer side water accumulaters in the bottom of the inside freezer. when it get the depression full and goes in a defrost cycle the water begins to melt and leaks out of the bottom onto the floor. Any suggestions.

Is the drain tube open? It is at the bottom of the coils in the rear of the freezer.

I cant locate a drain tube on this

What brand?

First of all look under the refrigerator. Most likely on the refrigerator side there is a plastic pan to catch water. You should also see a tube leading to it.

You probably have to take off the rear of the Freezer section to see the coils and the area where the defrost water collects. Should be a hole there with the tube that goes out to the pan.
