Shower-head maker in hot water

Jan 17, 2006 1 Replies

"A Scottsdale maker of shower heads is in hot water with conservation officials. Zoe Industries Manufacturing recently was accused of producing shower heads that produce a flow exceeding the federal standard of 2.5 gallons per minute.

"Al Dietemann, head of water conservation for Seattle, said an independent laboratory determined Zoe's Nautilus II Showerbuddy sent out a flow of 12.7 gallons per minute when the water reaches the head, with a force of 80 pounds per square inch."

An earlier story revealed the secret: THREE shower heads on one pipe.

Whatever. But, you should know that 80 psi is not a measure of force (80 pounds would be), but rather of pressure- force/unit area.

IOW "with 80psi(g) pressure" makes sense.

Let nothing stand in our way of luxuriating in whizzing away resources!
