When we moved into this house, we bought a Whirlpool washer, dryer, dishwasher and range. We still use the range, though the broiler quit working years ago, and it's not just the igniter. I replaced that. The dishwasher lasted about 10 years, and we replaced it with a Miele. The dryer lasted about 10 years, but needed to be repaired once about 5 years in, and we replaced that with the cheapest LG that has the minimal electronics. The Whirlpool washer lasted 5 or 6 years, and the control board failed. Fixing it wasn't worth the cost, which was super high. Then, I made a bigger mistake. I bought a Samsung washer. That only lasted about 5 years. Again, control board.

Finally, I bought the FF7. If I had bought the Speed Queen to begin with, I'd very, very likely still be on my first washer. If I had bought the Miele dishwasher to begin with, I'd very likely still be on my first dishwasher. The money that I spent on the Whirlpool and Samsung washers was wasted--pennywise.

When our son decided to move into the little house, I replaced that dishwasher too, with a Miele. Heck, we might live there again one of these years. We're considering putting washer & dryer hookups into the kitchen of the little house because the kitchen is ginormous, and there's a perfect place for them. Again, the washer would be an FF7, and on top of that, a front control dryer. Something like this.
