Pre-stick tiles on parkay

I would like to install some 16" square pre-stick tiles over a parkay floor. If I make sure the parkay in nice and clean, should I expect any problems?

thanks!!

Only if it gets warm enough in your house to melt butter (and margarine).

But seriously, folks...

Self stick tiles are not going to like whatever finish is on the wood, and the joints in the parquet are going to show thru. Don't do it.

Dooooooon't! I've just finished peeling off three layers of ugly linoleum and vinyl from BEAUTIFUL C. 1890 parquet floors. Parquet goes with everything, it's beautiful, easier on the feet than tile...Ask how much it would cost you to have that parquet made now vs. how much it would cost to have it cleaned up, etc.--assuming this was something you couldn't handle yourself, and you probably could--then reconsider. zemedelec
