I'd guess it's v. rare now, but if young'ns like you keep requesting it, some will start to do it.
Usually when I'm drunk, I just put my wallet on the bar and he takes what he wants.
I'm nearing 55, by the way.
It appears senility can start early.
That's actually not far from reality. It used to be pretty common to hand the bartender a credit card and asking him or her to keep it until I'm ready to leave.
