Can you spray paint conduit and not fail inspections?


*Usually yes. Take a look at the box stores and Wal Mart. If you look up you will see all of their conduits and pipes painted. You can always call the building department and ask.

I know of no code section that would prohibit painting conduit. In fact it seems to be specifically permitted or even required for supplemental protection. (EMT in wet locations)

The only concern for an inspector might be if he wants to read the labeling to insure compliance (schedule 80 vs 40 where that is required etc) You also are not allowed to paint water pipe gray so it looks like RNC ;-)
