In a Bosch oven the oven light last a week or so before it burns ( black inside the globe). I notice that a small hole appears halfway down the edison screw. It seems that it may be arcing out ? I have replaced the light a few times now each with the recommended bulb

Have you measured the voltage? If the neutral connection on the circuit is bad, instead of 120, 120 between the hots and neutral you could have 150, 90. If the bulb is on the 90, might not even notice it, but if it's on the 150 it will burn out prematurely.
Check the interior, especially the threads, of the socket in the oven for anomalies. Remember to kill the power to the oven before you stick your paws or a tool in the socket...
