Differences in spectra are interesting:
I would say as far as this issue that you are not going to save money using an led as use would be very brief and bulb would cost much more. I only turn oven light on briefly to look through oven glass which has screen to keep in infrared and lighting is not that efficient.
Don't know about led's but I have had cfl's in places like bathrooms that are only used briefly and do not last long being constantly turned on and off. I have incandescents in a remote powder room that are as old as my house, 45 years. I think there is also one in my shower that has lasted the life of the house.
I found spectrum charts earlier this year thinking about dawn lighting and SAD. It seems LED matches the sunlight more closely than anything else, and is far better than the spikey CFL.
It makes me wonder if ordinary LED lighting is just as good as the specialized grow lights for plants.
LED lights aren't restricted to one color temperature. I just had lights installed in my kitchen a while back and I got to choose from 5 colors, all the way from "incandescent yellow" to pinkish, to a blueish light.
