Same here. I run help wanted ads on CL for my commercial cleaning business. For my current ad I have 9 email responses (not counting those so far away they would spend more for gas than they would earn). Of the 9, two actuall y picked up when I called; one of the two said he would call back but didn' t. I left messages with the other 7 but got no callback. At least two had r esponded to previous ads but did not return my calls. I think people like t o apply for jobs but don't really want to work.

Another example why you should check out the local appliance store that cares about customers.

In fact that's what we ended up doing after visiting two other big box retailers.

One of them used the same delivery company as Lowe's so that was a knockout.

At the other store, we initially were greeted by a newly hired totally hot sales babe who unfortunately knew next to nothing about appliances. Nice guy that I am, I was willing to work with her for a while and educate her, but my wife asked the department manager for someone "with a little more experience".

We were handed off to a slimy, know-it-all sales weasel and so we just gave up and left.

DerbyDad, Wade:

You two represent 1/10 C-list users who have had smooth experiences on there. I won't touch the thing after what I've read and heard in the news.

What's different about C-List than normal ads in the newspapers if anything?

Hey, don't confuse this dyed-in-the-wool rumor-follower and emotional decision maker with any facts. His head might explode.

Nothing other than the internet makes it much easier to communicate.

Even with the idiot sellers and buyers, though as ill mannered as many are, it's not a deal breaker for CL. If one learns how to deal with the rudeness, it's very tolerable, especially if they want to sell an item.

Anyone who thinks it's too much to tolerate has a serious case of pantywaditus.

I agree...my post was just a vent after hearing crickets for the 4th time.

How hard is it to respond with "Hey sorry...I changed my mind" when a simple "Are you still interested" is asked?

Heck, you don't even have to say "Sorry". ;-)

That is obnoxious because it will be a lot harder to get rid the smaller amount.
